HCLT is proud to have hosted the CLT informational webinar Community Land Trust: Building Wealth for Communities and Families on January 21, 2021, 6 PM - 7:30 PM.
First-Time Home Buyer Seminar
In partnership with the Community Development Corporation of Long Island (CDCLI), HCLT hosted a free Virtual Financial and First-Time Home Buyer Seminar on Wednesday, September 16th, 2020. Participants learned about all the resources available to first-time home buyers, including how to qualify for down payment assistance, and get to know more about the affordable home ownership opportunities available through the community land trust model.
HCLT partnered with the US Census 2020 "Shape Your Future" campaign to help get better Hempstead responses to the census, help people register to vote and help them request absentee ballots.
Census Response and Voter Registration Days
On Sept 5 and 12, 2020, in partnership with the U.S. Census 2020 "Shape Your Future" campaign, we hosted two Census Response and Voter Registration days at the 175 Fulton Diner, located at 175 Fulton Avenue in Hempstead and offered participants a free breakfast. In total, we had 18 people register to vote and 33 people fill out the census!
